A 14-year-old Ukrainian girl who resided in the Dawlish region of Devon and was discovered unconscious on Dawlish beach has tragically died.
Saturday evening, Devon and Cornwall Police were notified of the girl’s disappearance and launched a search operation. Eventually, she was discovered unconscious on the beach and airlifted to a nearby hospital, but sadly, she later passed away.
Currently, the death is being treated as unexplained, and the police are continuing their investigation into its circumstances. Both the Ukrainian Embassy and Home Office have been notified.
Det Insp Becky Davies said: “With the assistance of the police helicopter and the coast guard, localised searches were conducted, and an unconscious individual was located on Dawlish beach. She was later airlifted to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, where she tragically passed away.”
During this tragic time, the police have expressed their condolences to the teen’s family and friends.
