A 16-year-old girl was discovered with multiple stab wounds in Culcheth’s Linear Park, bringing tragedy to the Warrington region. Brianna Ghey was discovered by the public at 15:13 GMT on Saturday and pronounced dead at the scene. Two local juveniles aged 15 have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Det Ch Supt Mike of the Cheshire Constabulary explained that a number of investigations are currently being conducted into the incident and that there is currently no evidence that Brianna’s death was motivated by hatred. Additionally, he mentioned that patrols have been increased in the area and that officers will remain in the Culcheth area to reassure residents and address any concerns they may have.
Anyone with information or evidence pertaining to the incident is encouraged to contact the police. They are especially eager for local residents and businesses to examine CCTV and dashcam footage for evidence.
