On the fifth anniversary of Georgina Gharsallah’s disappearance, there is a renewed need for information

This week commemorates the fifth anniversary of the disappearance of Worthing, West Sussex, mother-of-two Georgina Gharsallah on March 7, 2018. The investigation into her murder began in August 2019, and despite the fact that police released two persons arrested on suspicion of murder with no further action, her family is still waiting for answers.

Ms. Gharsallah, who was last seen acquiring a mobile phone and strolling down Chapel Road with an unidentified woman, has not returned home, putting her mother, Andrea, and her two kids in limbo. Andrea made a direct appeal to her daughter, stating: “It has been an eternity for us. Your sons miss you terribly and wait by the window for their mother. We send you our love wherever you may be.”

In addition to organising their own reconstruction of her final known movements, the family has created a Facebook group dedicated to locating her. Tuesday, the charity Missing Persons will organise a vigil in honour of Ms. Gharsallah, who is described as an Arabic speaker, 5ft 2in (1.57m) tall, with shoulder-length dark hair frequently worn in a topknot, and a piercing above her left lip.

The family of Georgina Gharsallah has been searching anxiously for answers to her absence for the past five years. Even though two arrests have been made in relation with the case, the mystery remains unresolved. Her family and friends continue to pray for her safe return and hold out hope that someone, somewhere, holds the key to her safe return.
