Nicola Bulley: Dive team withdrawing as search continues

Police continue their search for Nicola Bulley, a 45-year-old woman who was last seen walking her dog along the River Wyre in St. Michael’s on Wyre, Lancashire, twelve days ago.

Peter Faulding of Specialist Group International stated that his team had completed their job and that they had “conducted exhaustive searches all the way to the weir” and that the region was “totally negative.” The focus has expanded to a larger region, which now includes Knott End and Morecambe Bay.

Since her disappearance on January 27, a hunt for Ms. Bulley has been ongoing. At the time, she had dropped off her two daughters at school before taking her normal riverside stroll with her dog. Her phone and dog leash were discovered on a bench with a view of the water.

The police suspect that Ms. Bulley may have fallen into the river, but they are “open to any information that may suggest where Nicola is or what happened to her.” They are pursuing over 500 lines of inquiry and searching for approximately 700 motorists observed in the area on January 27. Additionally, data from her Fitbit watch is being analysed.

Paul Ansell, the partner of the late Ms. Bulley, visited the area earlier this week to pay his respects.

Lancashire mortgage consultant Nicola Bulley has been missing since January 27 after going for a morning dog walk. The discovery of her phone and dog leash on a bench adjacent to the River Wyre led officers to assume she may have fallen into the river. Specialist divers have since concluded their investigation and determined that she is not in that portion of the river, prompting the search to be expanded to Knott End and Morecambe Bay.

The police are actively pursuing over 500 lines of investigation and searching for approximately 700 motorists spotted in the area on January 27. Additionally, they are examining data from Nicola’s Fitbit watch. Paul Ansell, the partner of Ms. Bulley, visited the place where police suspect she fell into the river last week.

The family has expressed gratitude for the search efforts thus far. Peter Faulding from Specialist Group International stated, “If Nicola had been in that river, I would have found her, and she is not in that portion of the river.”

Ms. Bulley’s absence has devastated her family, friends, and coworkers, many of whom have taken to social media to express their grief. Mr. Faulding told the reporters on Wednesday that his staff had “done everything possible” and added, “Wherever she is, I hope closure comes soon.”

The hunt for Nicola Bulley continues, and authorities remain receptive to any information that may assist them in locating her or determining what happened to her.
