George Walker Jr., a 17-year-old from Aberdeenshire, has accomplished the incredible feat of obtaining his private pilot licence before he could drive a car. George, a sixth-year student at Inverurie Academy, was inspired by his deceased grandfather, RAF pilot Bob Southall. George now hopes to pursue a career in aviation and fly passengers around the world with his newly acquired qualification.
George stated that he took his first flying lesson on his sixteenth birthday last July and has never looked back. He stated, “My ultimate objective is to become an airline pilot.” “I want to fly passengers around the world, and obtaining a private pilot’s licence is the first step.”
George reports that his classmates find it “cool” that he passed his pilot’s exam, and they have been requesting rides from him. However, he has yet to obtain his driver’s licence. “I’ve been rather occupied,” he said.
George responded, “It’s the best feeling in the world; I’ve never done anything that felt better than flying, especially flying solo. It’s awe-inspiring to take in the scenery while piloting an incredible machine.”
George Sr. was “bursting with pride” over his son’s accomplishments and aspirations. To mark the occasion, the couple intends to fly to Dornoch for lunch and then return “just because we can.”
George Walker Jr., 17, from Aberdeenshire has accomplished something truly remarkable: he has obtained his private pilot licence before obtaining his driver’s permit. George began learning to fly last July, on his sixteenth birthday, after being inspired by his late grandfather, Bob Southall, who was a pilot for the RAF.
Now, he desires to pursue a career in aviation and fly passengers around the globe. When asked how it feels to be in the air, George described it as “the best feeling in the world” and remarked that “having control of an incredible machine” was awe-inspiring. His classmates find it “awesome” that he passed his pilot’s exam and are lining up for rides.
George’s father, George Sr., exclaimed that he was “bursting with pride” over his son’s accomplishment, skill behind the wheel, and ambition. The couple intends to take a celebratory flight to Dornoch for lunch and then return “just because we can.”
George Walker Jr. is a role model for all young people, demonstrating that anything is possible if one applies themselves.
