Along with the return of the Brit Awards is the return of host Mo Gilligan. This is the comedian’s second year as host, but this time it has been met with criticism due to the lack of female nominees for Best Artist.
Mo remains neutral and asserts that it is up to the “powers that be” to determine who will be nominated. However, he recognises the significance of artists speaking out and being heard.
Mo jokes that there’s nothing a shot of tequila can’t handle when asked how he’ll handle nerves on the night. He also reveals a few secrets about the backstage pamper room, where you can get a facial or even your toes done before you take the stage – although he makes it clear that he will not be sitting next to Harry Styles while he gets his nails done.
Mo also discusses what he learned from hosting the show last year. He claims he was overly excited and shouting last year, so he intends to be more composed this time around.
On Saturday, the Brit Awards will take place, and the evening is sure to be exciting. With Mo Gilligan at the helm and numerous celebrities in attendance, it’s sure to be a memorable occasion.
