Four convicts were incarcerated for a ‘virtually animalistic’ street assault in Blackpool

Four individuals were given life sentences for the murder of Mark Gibson, 52, in Blackpool, England. On 11 July, Gibson was pursued and viciously attacked with a spade, tyre wrench, and knife in a frenzied attack. Gibson posed no threat to his attackers, yet they pursued and fatally wounded him anyway. Following the attack, the group even laughed as he bled out in the street.

Aaron Chadwick received a sentence of 10 years in prison for manslaughter.

The assailants of Gibson were identified using CCTV footage and forensic analysis. The shoes seized from Tina Walton, Stephen Pugh, and Aaron Chadwick matched bloody footprints found at the crime scene. Blood spots containing Gibson’s DNA were discovered on Walton’s sneakers, as well as on Steele’s sneakers, Pugh’s elbow, and Pugh’s sneakers. The murder weapon was discovered at a Boothroyden address.

Det Ch Insp Jane Webb stated, “This was a vicious, frenzied assault that resulted in Mr. Gibson’s death in the street while the perpetrators walked away without remorse.” The sentences send a clear message regarding the use of knives in attacks, which frequently result in fatalities.”

Stephen Pugh, age 41, of Chapel Street, Blackpool, was given a minimum sentence of 25 years in prison. Tina Walton, 43, of Boothroyden, Blackpool, was given a minimum of 17 years in prison. Stephanie Steele, age 38, of Raikes Parade, Blackpool, was sentenced to at least 19 years in prison. Shaun Neil, 43, of Boothroyden, Blackpool, was given a minimum of 21 years in prison. Aaron Chadwick, age 34, of Warley Road, Blackpool, was given a 10-year prison term.
