Arctic Monkeys and Guns N’ Roses will head the Glastonbury Festival in 2023

Arctic Monkeys and Guns N’ Roses will join Sir Elton John as the headliners for the 2023 Glastonbury Festival, according to the festival’s organisers. This will be the last UK show of Sir Elton’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, taking place at Worthy Farm from Wednesday, June 21 to Sunday, June 25.

The lineup also includes Blondie, Lizzo, Lana Del Rey, Lil Nas X, Manic Street Preachers, and Wizkid. Cat Stevens will perform in the coveted ‘legend slot,’ whereas Diana Ross attracted an estimated 80,000 people last year. Emily Eavis, the festival’s organiser, has revealed that she wrote a letter to Sir Elton to convince him to perform at the festival; he responded positively.

Wizkid, a Nigerian superstar, will headline the Other Stage on Friday night, and Lana Del Rey, an American torch singer, will perform Saturday night opposite Guns N’ Roses. Christine and the Queens will headline the Woodsies stage once again, while Eurovision winners Mneskin and pop icon Rina Sawayama will make their festival debuts. There is also an equal number of male and female performers.

Tickets for the festival were sold out within 61 minutes of going on sale in November 2016, although returned tickets may be resold closer to the event. In addition, ten pairs of tickets will be raffled off to raise funds for the DEC Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal.

The Glastonbury Festival is a beacon of hope and love that unites music lovers from across the globe. After two years of pandemic lockdowns, last year’s festival had an incredible energy, with people behaving differently, wanting to be at everything, and experiencing the love and joy of being together once more.

Emily Eavis is still in the process of confirming additional acts for the festival’s lineup before it opens in June.
