Alex Ratnasothy: A twenty-year-old brother has been missing in Nepal

Alex Ratnasothy, a 23-year-old man from Grays, Essex, departed for Nepal in 2003, and his family never heard from him again. His final words to them were “I’ll be back sooner than you think.” His sister Anna Crozier and brother Joel Ratnasothy are still searching for answers 20 years later.

Anna and Joel took time off work in July 2003, Alex’s 24th birthday month, and travelled to Nepal to look for him. They discovered that he had been robbed of all his belongings and then mysteriously vanished. Anna believes that her brother chose not to be located after the robbery rendered him fearful and defenceless.

Anna and Joel spent ten months searching for clues in Nepal, but after Alex attempted to book a flight to Dubai, the trail went cold. As the twentieth anniversary of his disappearance approaches, Anna is determined to find answers for her deteriorating father. She hopes that identifying characteristics, such as a large Chinese dragon tattoo on his back, will help someone recall him.

Alex has been absent from family events such as birthdays and anniversaries for twenty years. Anna states that this experience has helped her gain perspective, reminding her of what is essential in life. She hopes that he will be discovered alive one day.

Anyone with information regarding Alex’s whereabouts is urged to come forward. They are desperate to find closure and reunite with their missing loved one after twenty years without answers.
