Police release CCTV image following the arson of an elderly man

A 82-year-old man was set ablaze outside a mosque in West Ealing, London, according to a police information request.

The incident occurred at approximately 8 p.m. on February 27 as the victim and suspect left the West London Islamic Centre. The suspect allegedly doused the elderly man with a liquid, possibly gasoline, before setting him on fire with a lighter.

The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of severe burns on his face and arms. Det Sgt. Steven Constable of the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) described the incident as “extremely shocking” and urged anyone who recognises the man in the photo to contact them.
