Four months after the disappearance of 24-year-old rugby player Levi Davis in Barcelona, Spain, a criminal investigation has begun. Due to Spanish law, the Mossos d’Esquadra – Catalan Police – are unable to provide further information on the case. The Mossos d’Esquadra described the case as containing “suspicious” and “illogical” elements.
Levi had been pursuing his musical career in Barcelona. After appearing on Celebrity X-Factor in 2019, he signed a record deal and released his debut single in September of the previous year. On October 17 he arrived in Ibiza, and on October 29 he took a boat to Barcelona.
The last time his friend Richard Squire saw him was the day before he left for Barcelona, when he dropped him off in Ibiza town. Richard contacted Levi’s family and mutual acquaintances when he hadn’t heard from Levi for a few days, and on November 8, the police opened an investigation. Levi was captured on surveillance footage leaving the Old Irish Pub in the city centre just hours after his arrival in Barcelona.
Levi sent Richard a WhatsApp voice message praising the beauty of Barcelona, but this was his last known contact with anyone. Since his disappearance, there have been no official updates, which has made it difficult for Levi’s family to deal with the rumours and conspiracy theories that have circulated online. His mother, Julie Davis, stated that she was disgusted by some of the rumours and that it is difficult to determine which ones are true.
Julie continues to watch Levi’s social media videos because they bring her comfort. Richard claims that each day since Levi’s disappearance feels like the first, and that the search for him is a “emotional rollercoaster.”

Despite this, Julie continues to watch Levi’s social media videos because she finds comfort in them.
